The Unionville Train Station was built in 1871 as the Toronto Nipissing Railway Company extended from Scarborough to Uxbridge, and ultimately to Coboconk. The arrival of the railway greatly stimulated growth in Unionville and development of the southern part of the village. Today, the Train Station is owned by the Town of Markham.
