German Mills Settlers Park and Historical Plaque 46

Community German Mills
Year Constructed:  1794
Address: North end of German Mills Road
This park marks the location of the hamlet of German Mills, established by the Berczy settlers in 1704 on the Don Flats.

By 1820, the community was an important industrial centre in Upper Canada. When the settlers moved to better farmland east of Yonge Street, the community gradually declined.

Some remnants of the buildings remain today
